Cardano is a third-generation proof-of-stake blockchain platform built on peer-reviewed academic research and formal verification principles. Founded by Charles Hoskinson, a co-founder of Ethereum, and developed by IOHK, Cardano uses the Ouroboros consensus protocol — the first provably secure PoS algorithm.
