Privacy Policy
This Policy explains what information Be The Investor collects, why we use it, when we share it and the choices available to you.
This Policy applies to BTI websites, applications, accounts, AI features, community tools and developer services. Third-party websites and services have their own policies.

Who controls your information
The Be The Investor (BTI) platform operator determines how personal information covered by this Policy is used. You can submit privacy questions or requests through the Contact page.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information generated through platform use, and limited information from service providers or public sources.
- Account data, such as name, email, profile details, preferences and authentication records.
- Financial-research inputs, including watchlists, portfolio holdings, simulations, goals, risk preferences and valuation scenarios. Do not enter brokerage credentials or sensitive payment-card data into research fields or AI prompts.
- AI and support content, including prompts, responses, feedback, voice transcripts when enabled and files you choose to submit.
- Community content, public profile information, comments, reactions and shared portfolios.
- Developer information, including API-key metadata, usage, request logs, quotas and technical diagnostics.
- Device and usage data, including IP address, browser, operating system, identifiers, pages, interactions, referring URLs and approximate location derived from IP.
- Transaction metadata. Payment-card details are processed by the payment provider and are not intended to be stored by BTI.
Sources of information
- Directly from you when you register, configure tools, contact us, post content or use the API.
- Automatically from your browser, device, cookies, logs and platform interactions.
- From connected services only when you choose to connect or import data and authorize access.
- From providers supporting authentication, payments, analytics, security, market data and content.
- From public sources where needed to provide company, market, news or professional information.
How we use information
- Provide, personalize and secure accounts, research tools, JINI and other Decision Support Systems.
- Process transactions, administer plans, enforce quotas and maintain API services.
- Generate portfolio insights, opportunities, simulations and other requested outputs.
- Operate community, support, communications and educational experiences.
- Measure performance, troubleshoot, prevent fraud and improve features and models.
- Comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights and respond to valid legal requests.
- Send product or marketing communications where permitted; you may unsubscribe from marketing messages.
AI processing
When you use an AI feature, the content you submit and relevant account context may be processed by BTI and AI service providers to generate a response, maintain safety, diagnose quality and improve the service as permitted by contract and law.
- Do not submit secrets, payment-card details, government identifiers or information you lack permission to disclose.
- AI outputs may be stored with conversation history or feature records until deleted or no longer needed.
- Some automated outputs personalize research, but BTI does not use them to execute trades or make legally binding financial decisions for you.
When we disclose information
We disclose information only as reasonably needed for the purposes described here.
- Service providers for hosting, databases, authentication, AI, analytics, communications, support, security and payments.
- Market-data, integration or content providers when required to complete a request you initiate.
- Other users and the public when you use public profiles, posts, comments or sharing features.
- Professional advisers, authorities or counterparties to comply with law, protect safety and rights, or complete a merger, financing, reorganization or asset transfer.
- We do not sell personal information for money. Some analytics or advertising-related disclosures may be treated as a “sale,” “sharing” or targeted advertising under certain laws; eligible users may contact us to exercise applicable rights.
Google advertising and your choices
When Google ads are enabled on BTI, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on those visits.
You can manage or opt out of personalized Google advertising at https://adssettings.google.com/. Information about participating third-party vendors and opt-out choices is available at https://www.aboutads.info/choices/. These choices do not necessarily remove all advertising.
Cookies and analytics
We and our providers may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies for sign-in, security, preferences, performance and analytics. Browser controls can block or delete them, but essential features may stop working.
- BTI does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because no uniform standard applies.
- Where consent is legally required, non-essential technologies should be used according to the choices presented to you.
Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the platform, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and comply with legal obligations. Retention varies by record type, account status, feature and legal requirement.
Deleting an account or record may not immediately remove backups, de-identified analytics, public content copied by others or records we must retain by law.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system, transmission or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for strong credentials and secure handling of API keys.
International processing
BTI and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing; receive a portable copy; withdraw consent; opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising; or appeal a denied request.
- Submit a request through the Contact page and specify “Privacy Request.”
- We may verify identity and authority before acting.
- Some rights are subject to exceptions, including security, legal compliance and recordkeeping.
- You may unsubscribe from marketing using the message link; service communications may continue while your account is active.
Children
BTI is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
Third-party services
Links, embedded content, brokers, social platforms, market-data providers and connected services are controlled by third parties. Review their privacy practices before providing information. BTI is not responsible for their independent processing.
Policy updates
We may update this Policy as BTI, our providers or legal requirements change. The updated date will appear above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
