XRP ETF Inflow Stands Out, but It Does Not Show a Rotation

Bitcoin and Ether ETFs lost a combined $391 million in one session while XRP funds added about $740,000. The contrast is real, but the XRP inflow was too small to establish rotation.

U.S. crypto investment products produced an eye-catching split in one trading session: spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds lost $261.46 million, Ether funds lost $129.51 million and Solana products lost $1.29 million, while XRP funds added about $740,414, according to SoSoValue data cited by 24/7 Wall St.

The direction of the flows is clear, but their scale is not comparable. XRP's inflow was less than 0.3% of the Bitcoin outflow. That makes it evidence of resilience in a single session, not evidence that investors moved hundreds of millions of dollars from Bitcoin or Ether into XRP.

Cumulative figures give more context. The source reported about $1.80 billion of cumulative net inflows for XRP products and $1.51 billion of net assets. Those totals show that regulated access has attracted capital over time. They do not explain the gap between cumulative inflows and current net assets, which can reflect market moves, fund launches, redemptions and differences in the data series. Without the underlying fund-by-fund history, the discrepancy should not be reconciled by assumption.

Loading market context

Daily ETF flows can be driven by portfolio rebalancing, arbitrage, hedging and the timing of large institutional orders. They are useful for measuring demand through a specific wrapper, but one day cannot establish a lasting preference. A more persuasive rotation signal would require repeated XRP inflows during sustained outflows from the larger products, accompanied by rising trading volume and a meaningful change in assets under management.

For XRP investors, the practical conclusion is narrower. The funds absorbed a small amount of capital on a difficult day for other crypto products, which is better than an outflow. The next test is persistence. Several weeks of comparable data would say more about allocation behavior than a single contrast that looks dramatic only because the signs point in opposite directions.
