ServiceNow AI Crosses $1 Billion in Contract Value

ServiceNow's AI products passed $1 billion in annual contract value as second-quarter subscription revenue rose 24.5%. Strong demand is visible, but margins and conversion still matter.

ServiceNow said its AI products crossed $1 billion in annual contract value during the second quarter of 2026. Subscription revenue reached $3.877 billion, up 24.5% year over year, while total revenue rose 24% to $3.987 billion.

The backlog also remained substantial. Current remaining performance obligations, revenue contracted for recognition over the next 12 months, increased 21% to $13.20 billion. ServiceNow reported 123 transactions with more than $1 million in net new annual contract value and 658 customers with over $5 million in annual contract value.

Those numbers show enterprise adoption, but they do not make every AI deployment profitable. Management said agentic deployments increased ninefold in nine months, a rapid expansion that must be matched by renewal, usage and margin evidence. Investors should also distinguish annual contract value from recognized revenue because contract timing can create a gap between bookings and reported sales.

ServiceNow raised its full-year subscription revenue outlook, reinforcing the demand signal. The durable test is whether AI products deepen customer relationships without raising delivery and support costs faster than revenue. Watch cRPO growth, renewal rates and free cash flow alongside the AI contract figure; together they show whether the product momentum is translating into economic value.
