AppLovin's 53% Revenue Growth Meets a Slower Second-Half Test

AppLovin posted $1.92 billion of second-quarter revenue, up 53%, but guidance implied slower growth. The stock's valuation now depends on sustaining advertising efficiency beyond mobile gaming.
AppLovin reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $1.924 billion, up 53% from $1.259 billion a year earlier. The advertising platform continues to grow far faster than most digital advertising peers, supported by its machine-learning systems and expansion beyond its original mobile-gaming base.
The rate of growth, however, has begun to slow from earlier quarters. For the third quarter, the company guided to revenue of about $2.06 billion to $2.09 billion, a result that would still represent strong expansion but a lower percentage increase. That makes the quality of growth more important than the headline rate.
AppLovin is pushing into broader consumer advertising and has opened Ads Manager more widely. The opportunity is large if the platform can show that its targeting and measurement work across categories. The risk is that early gains reflect unusually favorable customer cohorts or spending that does not repeat at the same efficiency.
Investors should avoid comparing valuation multiples without matching definitions and dates. AppLovin's operating margin and growth profile differ materially from Magnite and The Trade Desk, so a lower or higher price-to-earnings ratio alone does not settle relative value. The next useful evidence will be customer diversification, revenue retention and cash flow as the growth rate normalizes.
