Profound and Telix Link Prostate Imaging With Treatment Education

Profound Medical and Telix Pharmaceuticals Partner to Advance Prostate Cancer Imaging and Treatment Education

Profound Medical and Telix will jointly educate physicians on using PSMA-PET imaging alongside MRI-guided prostate treatment. The agreement may widen clinical awareness, but it includes no disclosed economics or proven treatment-outcome benefit.

Profound Medical and Telix Pharmaceuticals are joining forces around a practical problem in prostate cancer care: how to connect better imaging with treatment planning. Their co-education agreement will show urologists, radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists and cancer centers how Telix's PSMA-targeted PET imaging may complement Profound's MRI-guided TULSA-PRO platform.

The agreement is about physician education, not a product launch or a commercial integration. Planned activities include medical-society meetings, speaker programs, webinars and clinical case studies. Telix brings Gozellix and Illuccix, imaging products that target prostate-specific membrane antigen, or PSMA. Profound's TULSA-PRO system uses real-time MRI to guide ultrasound energy during an incision-free prostate tissue ablation procedure.

Why the pairing matters

PSMA-PET can reveal disease outside the prostate that may change whether a patient is suitable for local treatment. MRI, meanwhile, provides the real-time guidance used during Profound's procedure. Putting those views together could help physicians decide who should be treated and which areas require attention.

Profound is separately developing software to fuse PSMA-PET information with MRI inside a future version of its treatment console. That is potentially more consequential than the education program, because it could bring diagnostic information directly into procedure planning. However, the feature remains under development, has no announced release date and has not yet demonstrated better patient outcomes.

The immediate investor case is therefore modest. The agreement can expand Profound's access to clinicians already using Telix imaging and can deepen Telix's role in treatment selection. Neither company disclosed financial terms, revenue commitments or exclusivity. This is a distribution and awareness step, not evidence of near-term sales.

What would make the collaboration material

Three developments would turn the announcement into a stronger business signal: a launch date for image-fusion software, clinical evidence showing that combined imaging improves selection or treatment planning, and measurable adoption by prostate centers. Until then, the partnership strengthens the clinical story around both platforms without changing their reported economics.

For Telix investors, the agreement supports broader use of PSMA imaging across the prostate-care pathway. For Profound investors, it may bring TULSA-PRO in front of more specialists. The value will depend on whether education converts into procedures and whether the planned software moves from development into routine clinical use.
