RUM's AI Pivot Gains an Analyst Bull, but Contract Risk Stays High

RUM Stock Jumps Premarket: Analyst Sees Over 200% Upside, Says AI Shift Not Yet Priced In

Lake Street initiated RUM Group with a $25 target, arguing that its Northern Data acquisition, power pipeline and long-term compute contract could transform the company, though execution and funding risks remain substantial.

Lake Street began coverage of RUM Group with a Buy rating and a $25 price target, more than triple the share price cited in the October 7 report. The call rests on a fundamental change in the company: RUM now combines the Rumble video platform with Northern Data's AI infrastructure operations.

The acquisition moved RUM into a capital-heavy business where contracted demand, power availability and construction execution matter more than social-media engagement alone. An SEC filing shows RUM had acquired control of about 85.2% of Northern Data by mid-2026, and a later filing recorded another share purchase from Tether. Northern Data's GPU assets and development pipeline form the base of the Quake AI business.

The strongest part of the bull case is a six-year GPU-services agreement with an unnamed U.S. cloud customer. RUM disclosed the material contract in an August filing; The Information later identified the customer as Anthropic and reported a value of $13.7 billion. Because the public filing did not name the customer, that identity should remain attributed to the report rather than presented as company-confirmed.

RUM has also discussed 250 megawatts of targeted 2027 power and said existing GPU capacity was running at 85% utilization in its second-quarter release. Those figures suggest a path to much greater scale, but they are not the same as completed data centers or recognized revenue. The company must secure financing, build facilities, install equipment and meet contract milestones before the projected economics reach its income statement.

That distinction is crucial for investors evaluating the analyst target. Long-duration compute contracts can improve revenue visibility, yet they also concentrate counterparty exposure and require heavy upfront spending. Delays, higher equipment costs or slower power delivery could reduce returns even if customer demand remains intact.

Lake Street's initiation is a market opinion, not new operating evidence. The investable question is whether RUM can turn a newly assembled set of assets and obligations into cash flow without excessive dilution or leverage. Quarterly capital spending, capacity brought online, contract revenue and financing terms will be more informative than the price target itself.
