Micron Technology (MU), headquartered in Idaho, is a leading global provider of semiconductor memory solutions. It manufactures DRAM, NAND flash, NOR Flash and other memory and storage technologies for computing, consumer, networking, mobile, automotive, industrial and data center products. Micron reported fiscal 2025 revenue of $37.38 billion. DRAM generated 76.4% of revenue, NAND 22.8% and Other 0.8%. In the fourth quarter, the company reorganized its reporting segments into the Cloud Memory Business Unit (CMBU), Core Data Center Business Unit (CDBU), Mobile and Client Business Unit (MCBU), and Automotive and Embedded Business Unit (AEBU). Fiscal 2025 CMBU revenue soared 257% year over year to $13.52 billion. CDBU revenue rose 45% to $7.23 billion, MCBU increased 2% to $11.86 billion, and AEBU grew 3% to $4.75 billion. The portfolio is exposed to AI data centers, high-capacity servers, smartphones, PCs, automotive electronics and industrial systems, as well as data center SSDs and NAND-based storage. A $1,000 investment made in September 2016 would have been worth $57,250.30 as of September 3, 2026, a 5,625.03% gain excluding dividends but including price appreciation. Over the same period, the S&P 500 gained 251.68% and gold rose 221.48%. Micron’s catalysts include AI-driven memory and storage demand, tighter DRAM and NAND supply, and a richer mix of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), data center SSDs and high-capacity products. Record third-quarter fiscal 2026 results, a stronger fourth-quarter outlook, strategic customer agreements, cash generation and a net cash balance could support revenue visibility, margins and capacity investment. Opportunities are also expanding in automotive, robotics and edge AI. Risks include rising operating expenses, elevated capital spending, greenfield ramp-up costs, competition and trade restrictions. Demand or pricing weakness could offset these benefits. The stock gained 7.04% in four weeks. For fiscal 2026, no earnings estimate fell in the past two months, one increased, and consensus estimates moved higher.
