HPE, Arista and NetApp Rally as AI Spending Broadens

Why Did HPE, ANET, NTAP Stocks Surge To 52-Week Highs Today?

HPE, Arista and NetApp reached new highs as investors looked beyond chips to servers, networking and storage. Company results support demand, but valuations now require sustained execution.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Arista Networks and NetApp reached new highs as investors broadened the artificial intelligence trade from chipmakers to enterprise servers, networking and storage. The common thesis is that deploying AI requires a complete infrastructure stack, not only accelerators.

Three different exposures

HPE sells servers, private-cloud systems and networking equipment. Its investor materials reported Cloud and AI revenue growth above 20% from the prior year, with improving operating margins. The company has also expanded server platforms for demanding AI workloads and raised expectations for networking growth.

Arista provides high-speed Ethernet networking used to connect large data centers and AI clusters. The company reported first-quarter 2026 revenue of 2.709 billion dollars, up 35.1% year over year, and 1.69 billion dollars of operating cash flow. Those results support the demand thesis, but they do not isolate how much growth came directly from AI deployments.

NetApp supplies storage and data-management software. Its fiscal 2026 results reached records across revenue, operating income and cash flow, while management linked future demand to enterprise AI and hybrid cloud. An analyst upgrade helped the latest share move, but the analyst's 300 dollar target and earnings estimates are opinions, not company guidance.

Why the market is looking beyond chips

An AI system needs data ingestion, storage, networking, compute and software. As projects move from experiments to production, bottlenecks can shift from scarce processors to network bandwidth, data access and power efficiency. That creates opportunities for suppliers with installed enterprise relationships.

The risk is that strong operating news is already reflected in share prices. The original report said the three stocks had gained between 64% and 200% in 2026. After that kind of rerating, revenue growth must convert into margins and cash flow rather than remain a product-announcement story.

What to watch next

Investors should compare order growth, backlog conversion, gross margins and customer concentration across the three companies. For HPE, networking profitability and server mix are key. For Arista, cloud-customer spending and 400G or 800G adoption matter. For NetApp, all-flash growth and production AI storage demand need to exceed normal replacement cycles.

BTI's conclusion is that AI infrastructure demand is broadening, but these are not interchangeable businesses. The strongest evidence will be sustained revenue, margins and cash generation after the current product cycle, not another record share price.
