AI Chip Demand Is Strong, but 2027 Price Targets Need More Than Growth

The Next Wave of AI Demand Could Send Broadcom, Marvell, and AMD Soaring

Broadcom, Marvell and AMD report rapid data-center growth, validating AI infrastructure demand. The source's aggressive 2027 stock targets also require high valuation multiples, leaving customer concentration, supply and execution as decisive risks.

Broadcom, Marvell and AMD have reported strong AI-related growth, giving investors better evidence than promotional stock-price targets. The operating momentum is real. The source's proposed 2027 prices of $600 for Broadcom, $450 for Marvell and $1,000 for AMD still depend on both earnings growth and investors paying elevated multiples.

Company results support the demand thesis

Broadcom reported fiscal third-quarter 2026 AI semiconductor revenue of $16.7 billion, up 221% year over year and 54% from the prior quarter. That growth supports demand for custom accelerators and networking. It does not validate a particular stock price because valuation also depends on margins, customer concentration and the durability of orders.

Marvell's filing for the quarter ended August 1 said data-center sales increased 46% year over year and benefited from AI demand. Data center represented roughly three-quarters of fiscal 2026 revenue, which increases upside when deployments accelerate and downside when customers delay them.

AMD reported second-quarter data-center revenue of $6.7 billion, up 107% from $3.2 billion a year earlier. Its segment includes AI accelerators and server CPUs, so the total should not be described as accelerator revenue alone. The company also discussed multiyear partnerships and large planned GPU deployments, but planned capacity is not the same as delivered, accepted and paid hardware.

Why the targets are demanding

The source estimated that Broadcom at $600 would trade near 31 times fiscal 2027 earnings, while Marvell at $450 would trade near 67 times fiscal 2028 estimates and AMD at $1,000 near 64 times 2027 estimates. Those are scenarios built from third-party forecasts, not company guidance. A higher price can come from earnings growth, multiple expansion or both; relying on both increases sensitivity to disappointment.

The common risks

All three companies depend on a limited number of large customers and on data-center power, advanced packaging, memory and network availability. Marvell and Broadcom add custom-silicon concentration, while AMD must convert announced partnerships into competitive rack-scale deployments. Export controls can also limit addressable markets.

BTI's bottom line

AI infrastructure demand is visible in reported revenue, not just industry excitement. That supports the operating thesis for Broadcom, Marvell and AMD. It does not make aggressive stock targets automatic. Investors should track delivered revenue, margins, backlog quality, customer concentration and the valuation multiple required for each scenario.
